Advice from Jesus to Archie
Archie was having a difficult time finding
things he had hidden for safekeeping.
He ripped apart his whole apartment trying to find
the picture of his friend Boscoe at the Christian
Clown College.He forgot he had glued it to a magnet and
placed it on the refrigerator door.
He thought he was going crazy when he couldn't find
the new batch of tamales his grandma had made for him
for the church potluck.
He had hidden them behind the rubbery carrots
so his roommate wouldn't find them.
It was a hassle getting the refrigerator door closed.
Archie almost cried when he couldn't find his copy of
the basketball plays for his church basketball team.
He had hidden them someplace
because his roomate was on a competing church team.
And, he lost sleep trying to remember where he had hidden
the key to the file cabinet that contained his annotated
minutes for the last church business meeting.
Archie was so glad he had taken Jesus' advice
from Psalm 119:11
and hidden God's word in his heart.
Psalm 119:11
Your word I have hidden in my heart,
that I might not sin against you.
